AXIS ThinWizard is a Web based client server application, where a standard Web browser is used as the user interface to the ThinWizard server application. Server Requirements =================== - Microsoft Windows 2000/XP The Web server functionality is included in the ThinWizard server software. Thus, ThinWizard can be installed on any computer running the supported operating systems. Client Requirements =================== Use AXIS ThinWizard from any computer. A Web browser is used as the user interface to the ThinWizard server. Supported Web browsers are: - Netscape Navigator/Communicator version 4.7 or higher - Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher JavaScript and cookies must be enabled. Cookies are only used to support login to the application, and do not store any sensitive information. Other Web browsers may work but have not been verified Server Installation =================== Run TWSetup.exe Running ThinWizard as a service =============================== ThinWizard is installed as a service and it is automatically started when the computer is started. To control ThinWizard manually, open the Control Panel and select Administrative Tools and Services. When ThinWizard is running as a service, the User Interface can be accessed also when no user is logged on to the ThinWizard Server. Using ThinWizard from a client ============================== - Start your Web browser. - Enter in the Web browser's URL field the host name or the Internet address of the computer where you installed AXIS ThinWizard . If an HTTP port number other than the standard port number of 80 is being used, you must enter the non-standard port number in addition to the computer name in the URL field, The syntax is : Example http://pcadministration:8000/ Using ThinWizard when the server and the client is the same machine =================================================================== It is of course possible to run the Web browser on the same machine where the ThinWizard server is installed. - Start the server as described above. - Start your Web browser. - Besides using the host name or the Internet address you can always use the name localhost to address the local machine. Just enter localhost in the Web browser's URL field. If an HTTP port number other than the standard port number of 80 is being used, you must enter the non-standard port number in addition to the computer name in the URL field, The syntax is localhost: Example http://localhost:8000/ Network Groups ============== You must create at least one Network Group to be able to view any Axis devices with AXIS ThinWizard. It is recommended that you do this immediately after you have logged in. To create a Network Group, click the "Network Groups" button to the left.
