New features in 7.40.1 ================================================================================ 7.40.1:F1 Support for Firmware Recovery under Settings -> System -> Maintenance. The product is saving a restore point every time the firmware is updated, allowing the user to rollback to a previous firmware and its configuration. 7.40.1:F2 Support for browser stream statistics in Live View. 7.40.1:F3 Support for Password Security Confirmation Check. To increase overall cybersecurity awareness, a user-configured password that is considered "weak" need to be confirmed actively twice by the user. The product can block a client for a period of time if too many login attempts failed. Brute Force Delay Protection can be configured under System -> PlainConfig -> System -> System PreventDoSAttack. 7.30.1:F8 Upon a factory default, the camera will generate a self-signed certificate at boot and enable HTTPS. This allows clients to use encrypted access from start. If HTTPS is to be used in daily operations, it is recommended to replace the generated self-signed certificate with a CA-signed certificate. 7.30.1:F9 The former user group selections for HTTPS Connection Policy (administrator, operator, viewer) have been merged to one single HTTPS Connection Policy. 7.30.1:F10 Support for automatic license key installation when installing an ACAP under Settings -> Apps. 7.30.1:F11 Support for Adaptive Resolution. Adaptive Resolution is enabled per default and takes only effect when viewing live stream in the web-interface. The viewing client will receive a image resolution that is adapted or close to the viewing clients real display resolution to higher the user experience. Previously the IR lights did not start even though they were enabled. Known Bugs/Limitations ================================================================================ 7.40.1:L1 IR illumination turns off when scene is changed from a bright environment to an even brighter one when manually activated through the web interface. 7.40.1:L2 MJPEG images become corrupted in rare occasions. This will be corrected in the upcoming firmware 8.10 in Q1, 2018. Please submit a support ticket on our help desk in order to receive a preliminary solution if needed. 7.40.1:L3 It is not possible to create user accounts in Microsoft Edge 38 or IE 11. More information on recommended browsers can be found here https://www.axis.com/support/technical-notes/browser-support. 7.30.1:L1 Recording streams to SD Card with total bit rate above 12Mbit/sec may cause missing frames/sequences. 7.30.1:L2 It is recommended to perform a factory default after downgrading the cameras firmware if needed. 7.30.1:L3 Video streaming H.264 for Safari has been temporarily disabled in the web- interface because of an bug in the Safari browser. 7.30.1:L4 If the highest resolution is set on a view area, the full image (i.e. not the cropped out view area) will be shown. 7.30.1:L5 Connecting to a camera will fail and result in "Unauthorized" message due to an bug in Microsoft Edge 40 browser. This will be corrected by Microsoft in the next version of Edge 41. 7.30.1:L6 An overlay text (e.g. date/time modifier) that has been configured in the classic web-interface will be still shown in the new web-interface even though a user might have disabled the overlay text there after firmware update. A user need to disable the overlay text first in the classic web-interface using http ://ip-address/index.shtml.
