NEW SOFTWARE RELEASE ==================== Products involved: AXIS 5600+ Release date: Feb 11, 2005 Release type: SERVICE Software version: 7.03.0 File size: 1 160 792 bytes Last preceding release: 7.02.0 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Contact Information ==================== Please contact Axis Communications for product information, updates and support at: http://www.axis.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- N.B for ThinWizard users: ------------------------- The preceeding 7.02.0 release is not supported by ThinWizard due to upgrading problems when the print server is located on a 10 Mbit net (see Corrected problems section below). This document describes the changes made between the 7.02.0 release and this release. The release notes for the 7.02.0 release can be found at the following location: http://www.axis.com/ftp/pub_soft/prt_srv/5600p_1/7_02_0/7_02_0.txt Added features in version 7.03.0 ================================ Removed functionality ===================== Corrected problems in version 7.03.0 ==================================== - FTP upgrading print servers connected to a 10 Mbit network to the preceeding 7.02.0 release fails due to the print server resetting the connection. This has been corrected in this release. Limitations in version 7.03.0 ================================ - Axis ThinWizard is the recommended management tool to use with this print server. HP WebJetadmin is neither tested nor supported with this release. - Succesful paralell-port "flash-loading" might require two, or more, attempts in some cases. - Support for Checksums in Netware is not implemented. - Users are recommended to use the native print monitor on Win2000/XP. - If there is an SLP directory agent on the network and the slp-directory-agent option (RFC 2165) is used by the dhcp server, the Print Servers will most likely end up in a non recoverable endless loop. - If the print server receives a NDS tree name via dhcp, and the new name differs from the one stored in the print server, then the print server will keep on rebooting forever. The solution is either to disable the NDS tree option on the DHCP server, or to configure the print server on a network where no DHCP server is present. - FW 7.03.0 is not fully compatible with TW 3.00. The Print Server name will be missing and the Status reported by TW 3.0 will be wrong. For full functionality please use TW 3.04, or higher. - Firmware release 7.00 and onwards only supports print servers with Axis brand name.
