NEW SOFTWARE RELEASE ==================== Product involved: Axis 850 and Axis 851 Release date: 960815 Release type: Production Software version: 2.16 Software media: AXIS85x Filename: 85x.216 Size: 1118552 Last preceding release: 2.15 Flash loading instructions: See flash.txt document --------------------------------------------------------------------- New features in V2.1x: ====================== 1. NetWare support Plug-and-play, just connect the CD-ROM server and you could access from your client using network browsing or "mapping tool" The server is presented with a default name based on the serial number. For details on parameter settings please refer to the manual. 2. NetBIOS over TCP/IP (NBT) SMB is now supported using also TCP/IP as transport protocol. With our implementation a standard W95 SMB client could access our server either via TCP/IP (standard TCP/IP stack loaded) or via NetBEUI (standard NetBEUI stack loaded). The SMB support: SMB | | NetBIOS / \ NBT NetBEUI | | TCP,UDP | | | IP | | | LLC LLC 3. SMB browse support At startup the CD-ROM server will announce its default name based on serial number in the default group "Workgroup". You could then without any configuration access the server and the CD's using a network browser (e.g. W95 Explorer). Default name and group could be set in the config.ini file. 4. SMB share level access control The parameter SMBuser in the volume files has been removed. Standard share level access control is now supported for SMB users. 5. Multisession support Our multisession implementation will mount the last created session. If the CD-R was created with Incremental Multisession this means that all old info on the CD will be accessible. A standard PC CD-ROM driver will work in the same way. Corrected problems in version 2.12 ================================== 1. Copy from DOS prompt with NetWare VLM clients. 2. Possibility to create file server object in NDS tree. 3.
