NEW SOFTWARE RELEASE ==================== Products involved: NetEye 200 Release date: 970327 Release type: Production Software version: 1.11 Filename: 200_1_11.bin Last preceding release: 1.03 Flash loading instructions: See http://www.axis.se/neteye/updates/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- Release 1.11 ================== News in 1.11 from 1.03: 1. Serial port server / Zmodem officially released. 2. Different, less complicated, JPEG format used that will be understood by most applications. 3. New images, hugesize.[jpg | bmp | ppm] . These are large (704 * 576) images, available in three different formats. The hugesize images can be controlled by cgi parameters controlling which part of the full image that actually will be extracted. Ex. http://mycamera/hugesize.jpg?top=40&left=0&width=400&height=304 The parameter values will be truncated to the closest multiple of 8. 4. A new file, zoom.jpg, is a zoomed version of the file fullsize.jpg. Actually, it is an extraction from the center of hugesize.jpg, but from the users point of view it looks like a zoomed (*2) fullsize.jpg. 5. The images can be rotated in 4 different orientations. 0, 90, 180 and 270 degrees. This can be controlled by a parameter setting or by specifying CGI parameters in the image url. Ex: http://mycamera/fullsize.jpg?rotation=90deg The images can also be mirrored by using the 'MIRROR' configuration parameter or the 'mirror=on' cgi parameter. Ex. http://mycamera/fullsize.jpg?mirror=on 6. A new parameter, USERS, may be used to force authentication for all accesses to the camera unit. It holds a list of user/ password pairs, each separated by colon (':'). If the string is not empty, all users will be prompted for name and password. If the user is not in the list, he/she will never get access to the unit. Ex: USERS. : user1:password1:user2:password2 user1 and user2 are the only non-root users that will be allowed to access files on the unit. If the string is empty, everybody has user access to the files in the camera. 7. POST is implemented in the HTTP server (used internally by HTTP config). 8. A feature to enhance image quality in dark environments is added. When the light is considered to be too poor, the colors are switched off to reduce noise in the picture. The feature is controlled by the DARKDETECT parameter. 9. Server push files. The files can be found in: /cgi-bin/halfsize.srvpushs /cgi-bin/fullsize.srvpushb The files requires root access level to be read. Example of html files using these features may be found in: /pub/pushb.htm using /cgi-bin/fullsize.srvpushb /pub/pushs.htm using /cgi-bin/halfsize.srvpushs 10. Updated java applet in campict.class, try java.htm to test. 11. New parameter, TIMEADJ_WEEK. Specifies the real time clock adjustment in seconds per week (+- 32767) Not available using HTTP config. 12. New parameter, SERIAL_BAUD. Sets the baud rate on the serial port. Not available using HTTP config. 13. Default router and netmask parameters will be reset on a factory default setting. Known problems in 1.11 ======================= 1. Using the front button to take image snapshots might cause the unit to hang if someone is accessing an image file using f.x. a browser. This is caused by a resource access collision in the camera. Do not use the front button to take pictures if you know that the camera is accessed by others. 2. The camera unit might take several minutes to adjust itself to the current light conditions when an unused unit is started. 3. The clock and axis logo will only show in non-mirrored 0 and 180 degree orientations. 4. The 1st telnet session on a cold started unit might crash the camera if characters are sent too quick after a successful connection. This will not affect normal, manual interaction but may show if you're using automated scripts or command line redirection. 5. FTP from Microsoft Internet Explorer will fail due to usage of a non-implemented FTP command (PASV). Verified on Internet Explorer 3.0. 6. Modem access doesn't work if the unit is simultaneously accessed using other protocols (HTTP, FTP). This shouldn't be a real problem since it is unlikely that one would need to access the camera using a modem if there is a network available. 7. When running HTTP configuration on a heavy loaded unit, the configuration might fail resulting in a page with title: AXIS NetEye200 Configuration - Unidentified Page This is a symptom of too many accesses to the camera, but is normally harmless. Wait a while and try again, or try to reduce the traffic to the camera. 8. Problems interacting with NT TCP/IP protocol stack has been experienced. 9. If loaded heavily with f.x. server push sessions the camera might run out of memory & hopefully restart (or hang). Recommendations: ================ Change to this version.
