FIRMWARE RELEASE NOTES ====================== Products affected: AXIS 223M Network Camera Release date: 2009-04-21 Release type: Production Firmware version: 4.47 File name: 223M_447.bin Preceding release: 4.45 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS ==================== The firmware can be upgraded using Axis Camera Management 2.0, HTTP or FTP. Please follow the instructions from the user's manual, the web page at http://www.axis.com/techsup/cam_servers/how_to_upgrade.htm or the file named howtoupgrade.txt. RELEASE 4.47 ============ New features ============ 4.47:F01 Added HTTP Digest Authentication. 4.47:F02 Added Secure Initial Configuration. This makes it possible to enable HTTPS the first time the user accesses the product, i.e. on the same page where the root password is defined. 4.47:F03 Added mirroring, i.e. possibility to mirror the video stream. It can be configured using VAPIX as well as through the GUI. Modifications ============= 4.47:M01 Improved event handling with regards to stability. 4.47:M02 Improved network driver with regards to stability due to high load. 4.47:M03 Improved products ability to maintain image sharpness in low light situations. 4.47:M04 Improved white balance behavior. 4.47:M05 Improved day/night behavior. 4.47:M06 Changed IR cut filter behavior so that IR filter does not stay OFF when changing from forced OFF to automatic during day. Corrections in 4.47 since 4.45 ============================== 4.47:C01 The verification of event duration configuration no longer allows alphabetic characters. 4.47:C02 When starting a new live view stream or when getting a still image, running live view streams and events sometimes stopped for a short while. This issue is corrected now. 4.47:C03 Copying an event configuration now works as it should. 4.47:C04 When saving a snapshot image, some web browsers (e.g. Mozilla) would fetch a new picture and the saved picture would not match the displayed snapshot, this is no longer the case. 4.47:C05 The text overlay no longer disappears in a 90/270 degree rotated widescreen image. 4.47:C06 Image overlay coordinates can now be changed by operators as well. 4.47:C07 Text overlay placed at the bottom of the image no longer causes the image to disappear. 4.47:C08 Privacy masks in conjunction with a rotated widescreen image no longer causes the image to disappear. 4.47:C09 Corrections for overexposed images that could appear in some cases. 4.47:C10 Reduction of black frames appearance. Known limitations in 4.47 ========================= 4.47:L01 When the IR cut filter is turned on or off events are triggered and the motion detection activity monitor shows movement. 4.47:L02 When switching between resolution modes privacy mask position changes. 4.47:L03 If the privacy mask goes beyond the right margin and the image gets rotated, the mask might disappear. 4.47:L04 Certain combinations of coordinates of privacy masks in widescreen mode makes the masks disappear. 4.47:L05 Having mirror image enabled and switching between large wide and normal resolutions causes the video to disappear, a restart is necessary to get video running again. 4.47:L06 Overlay Image gets part of its image cropped at larger horizontal positions and max resolution. 4.47:L07 The maximum available resolution for MPEG-4 is 640x480 or 640x360 depending on the selected resolution mode.
