FIRMWARE RELEASE NOTES ====================== Products affected: AXIS 209FD/209FD-R Network Camera Release date: 2008-12-16 Release type: Production Firmware version: 4.47 File name: 209FD_447.bin Preceding release: 4.44 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS ==================== The firmware can be upgraded using Axis Camera Management 2.0, HTTP or FTP. Please follow the instructions from the user's manual, the web page at http://www.axis.com/techsup/cam_servers/how_to_upgrade.htm or the file named howtoupgrade.txt. RELEASE 4.47 ============ New features ============ 4.47:F01 Added Access Logging. This log gathers information on accesses to the product and can be listed anytime from the log pages. 4.47:F02 Added Connection list. It gives an overview of the connections made to the product specifying which IP is connected, the user and protocol used. 4.47:F03 Added HTTP Digest Authentication. 4.47:F04 Added Secure Initial Configuration. This makes it possible to enable HTTPS the first time the user accesses the product, i.e. on the same page where the root password is defined. 4.47:F05 Added mirroring, i.e. possibility to mirror the video stream. It can be configured using VAPIX as well as through the GUI. 4.47:F06 Added a Event monitor function to VAPIX. By using this interface, an application can get information about all trigger information available in the product. 4.47:F07 Added Advanced MJPEG settings (Video&Image -> Advanced). Using these settings, you can easily control the frame size of the JPEG images. The compression level is then adjusted automatically if the images for some reason become too large (e.g. sensor noise at night, complex motive). 4.47:F08 Possibility to display dynamic user text in image text overlay is added. Please use the online help file on the camera for more information. 4.47:F09 Added possibility to send TCP notification continuously while event is active. 4.47:F10 Functionality for Exposure area has been added to improve image in case of having some very bright and very dark parts of the image when it is necessary to define which part of the image will be used to calculate the exposure. 4.47:F11 The possibility to fine-tune low light behavior has been added. 4.47:F12 Added functionality to maintain color image even in low light conditions (parameter Noise Color Reduction in Plain Config>Image Source can be set to 0 to preserve color). Modifications ============= 4.47:M01 The motion detection algorithm has been improved to work better under low light conditions and to be less sensitive for exposure changes. The number of false triggers should be lower with this improvement. Motion detection settings might need to be modified after firmware upgrade to assure the desired function. 4.47:M02 The Server Report has been reformatted, in order to let the most important information come first. In order to avoid incomplete reports, the report is not displayed before its generating is finished. 4.47:M03 Improved event handling with regards to stability. Known limitations ================= 4.47:L01 When using image overlay text during event image upload, using blanks in text will generate hex-value "%20" for blanks. The same applies to other special characters used. These special characters can be added using Plain Config>Event and configuring the specific parameter. 4.47:L02 Having a high framerate (10 fps and higher) during event upload might cause less pictures being uploaded than expected. 4.47:L03 When configuring privacy masks and pressing test the resolution can be displayed incorrectly compared to the one set in the camera. 4.47:L04 When doing event uploading to an ftp server and using date&time in the images will cause the camera stop sending images after a restart of the camera. This problem does not appear if using NTP server. 4.47:L05 Image in Motion Detection setup won't be rotated even though camera setting has been made to rotate picture in Live view. 4.47:L06 "Setup"-link will always be displayed even though it's disabled in Plain config. 4.47:L07 Image overlay Test button will give script error and incorrect window size. 4.47:L08 When changing resolution and the uploading an overlay image, moving the overlay image coordinates several times might cause overlay image not to move any more. Changing resolution or restarting camera will solve this. 4.47:L09 It's not possible using "/" when configuring image filename during ftp event upload. This means it's not possible creating subfolders by using "/" in the filename. This can be added using Plain Config>Event and configuring the specific parameter. 4.47:L10 If adding an event triggered by anything else but 'motion detection'and then decide to modify the existing event and make it triggered by 'Motion Detection' the new drop down lists for available motion windows and the drop down list for 'when motion detection' will contain unexpected characters. Remove the current and add a completely new event. 4.47:L11 When enabling both ipv4 and ipv6, then disabling the ipv6, the ipv6 will still be shown under "Current Network Settings" as well as under the "NTP configuration" view. Application Developer Information ================================= The AXIS VAPIX API - Application Programming Interface (available at www.axis.com) is supported by the AXIS 209FD/209FD-R.
