FIRMWARE RELEASE NOTES ====================== Products affected: AXIS P3301 Network Camera Release date: 2009-09-18 Release type: Production Firmware version: 5.10 File name: P3301_5_10.bin Preceding release: P3301_5_01.bin AMC version: 5.6.2.6-1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS ==================== The 5.10 release upgrade must be preceeded by an upgrade to 5.09 firmware due to incompatability between partitioning layout in 5.01 firmware and 5.10 firmware. To remain camera settings the camera must first be upgraded to 5.09 firmware and then to current 5.10 firmware. The firmware can be upgraded using Axis Camera Management, HTTP or FTP. Please follow the instructions from the user's manual, the web page at http://www.axis.com/techsup/cam_servers/how_to_upgrade.htm or the file named howtoupgrade.txt. RELEASE 5.10 ============ New features since 5.01 ======================= 5.10:F01 Added embedded AVHS client. 5.10:F02 Added ONVIF support (Open Network Video Interface Forum) including metadata streaming over RTSP/RTP. This includes streaming of event data, and analytics data. Dynamic web services discovery protocol as specified in ONVIF standard which follow WS-Discovery definitions (remote discovery will not be supported). 5.10:F03 Axis Camera Application Platform enabling third party developers (ADP partners) to develop, download and run their applications on the Axis camera. 5.10:F04 Support for license handling for third party applications in Axis Camera Application Platform. 5.10:F05 Support added for GLIBC giving full support for developing in C++ programming language. 5.10:F06 Added SNMP traps. Improvements since 5.01 ======================= 5.10:I01 RTSP API extensions with a metadata streaming API due to ONVIF 1.0 support. 5.10:I02 XML described events according to ONVIF standard. 5.10:I03 Using odd characters and signs such as "~@£$&" in the folder name during event upload will now bring up a dialog stating that on certain operating systems, this can cause problems. Corrections since 5.01 ====================== 5.10:C01 When using mirroring the privacy mask was previously remaining at the same place as as the original image, i.e. i didn't cover the masked area anymore. This has been changed and now the privacy mask is being moved according to the mirrored image. 5.10:C02 Fixed security issue with triggered events enabling a script to be executed remotely on local computer. Known bugs ========== 5.10:L01 When creating a self-signed certificate over https a warning can appear in the system log cert.cgi: certutil.c:790 [cert_util_lock] Failed to acquire certificate service lock: time out. This warning can however safely be ignored. 5.10:L02 When using manually triggered events it's possible to trigger event number two on top of event number one. If for example activating an ouput port for 10 seconds, waiting 5 seconds then activating the event again will cause port to be active for another 10 seconds after the first event has elapsed. Activating the trigger more than two times won't have any effect. 5.10:L03 During automatic license installation, using a information with swedish letters å, ä, ö will not work. The server will respond with "400 Bad Request". This is because of the browser encoding these letters as iso-8859-1 and not UTF-8. 5.10:L04 In Internet Expolorer 7 or 8 if one forgets to enter an application when using application trigger a script error occur. 5.10:L05 When moving (repositioning) the privacy mask using Firefox the privacy mask does not always follow the mouse but lags behind. This seems more prevelant the smaller the mask is and the faster one moves the mouse. Application Developer Information ================================= The AXIS P3301 supports AXIS VAPIX API - Application Programming Interface version 3. Backwards compatibility is maintained as far as possible, but some changes have been necessary.
