UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS
====================

The firmware can be upgraded using HTTP.

HTTP
====

1.  Download the upgrade file to a directory that is accessible from your local
    computer.

2.  Go to the AXIS 262 Network Video Recorder start page (e.g. http://192.168.0.90).

3.  Click the Setup link and log in as root if you are prompted for a user name 
    and password. You must be logged in as an Administrator to upgrade the unit.

4.  Click Maintenance in the System Options menu to the left.

5.  Click the Browse button in the Upgrade Server section.

6.  Select the upgrade file you downloaded from our site. This file is typically 
    named axis262_400.tar or axis262.tar.

7.  Click the Open button.

8.  Click the Upgrade button in the Upgrade Server section.

9.  Wait for the flash load to complete, which may take 1-20 minutes. The
    upgrade procedure is in these steps:
    Step 1, Uploading firmware:
      The upgrade file is uploaded to the AXIS 262 Network Video Recorder.
      Do not interrupt this procedure, or the upload will fail.
    Step 2, Reboot:
      The system restarts automatically. 
    Step 3, Upgrade:
      The old firmware will be erased and the new firmware will be saved. 
      During this step, the Power LED will blink green/amber.

10. After the upgrade has completed, the unit will automatically initiate the
    system, during which the Status LED blinks amber. When initiation is
    complete and the system is ready for use, the Status LED will be green.

Corrections in 4.01
===================

4.01:1 German spelling errors in web interface has been corrected.

Known problems and limitations in version 4.01
==============================================
  
4.01:2 When image settings are changed on a video source it is necessary to restart the
       Axis 262 or the video source to get the updated video & image settings from the
       video source.
  
4.01:3 The AXIS 262 does not work together with the xim4 POP3 server on Debian.

4.01:4 If the AXIS 262 is used in heavily loaded networks with a lot of package lost, 
       the system is prioritizing the recording but live view and playback might freeze 
       now and then. If the network is over loaded, even recording will be effected.

4.01:5 To decrease a scheduled recording interval the old interval must be deleted and 
       a new interval added.

4.01:6 When using the HTTP API date.cgi to set the time the seconds will be ignored.

4.01:7 The value in the parameter list for: root.Time.TimeZone shows the timezone + 
       daylight saving time if it is in effect, e.g if it is summer time in timezone 
       GMT+1 the parameter will show GMT+2
