FIRMWARE RELEASE NOTES ====================== Products affected: AXIS 213 PTZ Network Camera Release date: 2007-04-17 Release type: Production Firmware version: 4.35 File name: 213_4_35.bin Preceding release: 4.30 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS ==================== The firmware can be upgraded using Axis Camera Management 2.0, HTTP or FTP. Please follow the instructions from the user's manual, the web page at http://www.axis.com/techsup/cam_servers/how_to_upgrade.htm or the file named howtoupgrade.txt. RELEASE 4.35 ============ New in 4.35 ============ 4.35:F01 AXIS Media Control now has a reconnection strategy accessible from Control Panel on the Windows client. This allows the user to decide how the AMC client should handle a loss of connectivity with the product, i.e., for how long the product will try to reconnect and at which interval. 4.35:F02 Recording of Motion JPEG/MPEG4 streams to .asf files with the AXIS Media Control. This functionality is enabled in the Live View Config menu. For more info see also the AXIS Media Control user's manual, available at: http://www.axis.com/techsup/software/amc/index.htm. 4.35:F03 Added Areazoom in AMC. This function make it possible to draw a rectangle in the image and automatically center and zoom on the position. 4.35:F04 Added calibrations tool for the PT movements. This tool helps to correct for the offset between the optic center and the mechanical center of the unit. It's convenient to use together with Areazoom, as this type of error becomes visible when using this feature. Corrections in 4.35 =================== 4.35:C01 Camera shutter speed. When changing exposure parameters, if needed, update status for autoiris in the ptz framework. If changing the iris or autoiris in the PTZ framework, if needed, update exposure parameter. Otherwise, the status may be different after power-off and power-on. 4.35:C02 Limits are not ignored in relative mode. 4.35:C03 Improved the overall stability when streaming MPEG-4. 4.35:C04 It is now possible to interrupt an ongoing PTZ movement. Known limitations in 4.35 ========================= 4.35:L01 Rotated video streams are not rotated in Motion Detection setup. 4.35:L02 When starting a new live view stream or when getting a still image, running live view streams and events will be stopped for a short while. 4.35:L03 Copying an event configuration does not work properly. Some parameters may not be copied correctly. Please verify each parameter value in the cloned event configuration. 4.35:L04 Motion detection windows are adjusted so that their width and height are divisible by 8 (pixels). 4.35:L05 When saving a snapshot image, some browsers (e.g. Mozilla) will fetch a new picture and the saved picture will not match the displayed snapshot. 4.35:L06 The Mozilla web browser does not always close the image stream properly when leaving the live view page. Restarting the stream can sometimes fail as well. Restarting Mozilla solves these two problems. 4.35:L07 Viewing full screen and sequencing through different external video sources with different video streams in a sequence will switch the full screen mode off. 4.35:L08 The AXIS Media Control may stop displaying the MPEG-4 stream after the screen saver has been active or the computer has been locked. Workaround: Reload the Live View page. 4.35:L09 If using dual screens and moving the AXIS Media Control window from one screen to the other, the MPEG-4 stream may stop updating. Workaround: Reload the Live View page. 4.35:L10 A snapshot image of the MPEG-4 stream will not be aspect ratio corrected when using the AXIS Media Control to take the snapshot image while aspect ratio correction is enabled. 4.35:L11 The text overlay in a 90/270 degree rotated NTSC image is garbled in both MJPEG and MPEG-4 when the image width is not evenly divisible by 16. 4.35:L12 Including format field #b or #B in text overlay will show incorrect bandwidth usage when frame rate is limited for Motion JPEG. 4.35:L13 PTZ click in image will not work when using QuickTime as the image viewer. 4.35:L14 PTZ click in image coordinates will not be correct in Mozilla when resizing the image using the view size buttons. 4.35:L15 The Axis Media Control should reload itself at audio configuration changes on server. Sometimes it does not. Workaround: Reload the Live View page. 4.35:L16 Half duplex audio does not function when viewing an MPEG-4 video stream. The audio stream will be transmitted in Full duplex mode, even if the audio mode is set to Half duplex. 4.35:L17 Corrected an issue with imagesize.cgi.
