Installation
============

- Run AXISCameraManagementSetup.exe or AXISCameraManagementRedistSetup.exe
  and follow the instructions.

- If not already installed, Microsoft .NET 4 framework will be installed 
  (included in installation file). This will take a few minutes. 
  Microsoft .NET 4 framework can also be installed via Windows Update 
  prior to installation of AXIS Camera Management. 

- Make sure you have full administrator rights on the computer you install 
  on.


Uninstallation
==============

- For Windows Server 2003 click 'Remove' for AXIS Camera Management
  under
  Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs

- For other operative systems click 'Uninstall'  for AXIS Camera Management
  under
  Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features


Recommendations
===============

- Observe the hardware requirements for running AXIS Camera Management.
  See users documentation at www.axis.com for details.

- Make sure used Axis devices run latest available firmware.

- The "Restore" function has been renamed to "Reset to Factory Settings".
- The "Master credentials" concept has been removed.

- Silent install - It is now possible to script the installation, upgrade and 
  uninstall. This is very useful when for example installing the server on several
  sites.
- Server only install - Only the server is installed if the user so chooses.
- New GUI - The client has received a more modern look
- Scaling - The client will now scale a lot better when there are many devices and
  servers in the system
- Parameter Management - Variables (serial number and server name) can be used in 
  text fields. This can be used for example to set a unique parameter value for 
  each device.
- Parameter Management - We support more parameters than before. Everything static
  is supported.
- Device List - The user can now configure which columns to show.
- Device List - UPnP friendly name and tag names columns added.
- Client-Server communication - More efficient strategy. A TCP port was added to the
  service control in addition to the HTTP port.
