FIRMWARE RELEASE NOTES ====================== Products affected: AXIS P1346/P1346-E Network Camera Release date: 2011-07-15 Release type: Production Firmware version: 5.40.1 File name: P1346_5_40_1.bin Preceding release: 5.22 AMC version: 6.0.6.2-1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS ==================== The firmware can be upgraded using Axis Camera Management 2.0, HTTP or FTP. Please follow the instructions from the user's manual, the web page at http://www.axis.com/techsup/cam_servers/how_to_upgrade.htm or the file named howtoupgrade.txt. New Features/Functionality ========================== 5.40.1:F01 Microsoft Network share. Possibility to mount a Microsoft Network Share to be used as an Edge Storage device. 5.40.1:F02 ext4 file system support for SD Card. Axis recommends SD-Card users to have the camera format the SD card with ext4 instead of the default vFAT. ext4 will increase recording reliability compared to vFAT. Note that a SD cards formatted with ext4 cannot be read by a Microsoft PC without downloading additional ext4 drivers into the PC. 5.40.1:F03 VAPIX Local Storage API 1.0. See VAPIX documentation for further information. 5.40.1:F04 The internal Event Management system has been redesigned. The internal Utask has been removed and VAPIX have been extended with a new Event-API based on Web-Services. You may need to be cautious when upgrading a camera from a previous firmware that has user-defined events/action rules. The legacy user action rules in the camera will continue to work but will not be visible in the camera user interface. The user interface allows you to convert them, making them visible and editable. 1. Recurrence event; It is now possible to have the camera perform an action periodically such as every X minute, hour or day. 2. Additional Conditions; Possibility to use additional conditions in an action rules that must be valid before an action is executed. Example action rule: Record video to SD Card upon Motion Detection but only if the digital input port is high. 3. Storage Available Detection. Possibility to create actions when the Storage Device (e.g. SD-Card) is connected or disconnected. 4. Schedule profiles: Possibility to create schedules that can be used/reused in action rules. The camera also has some preconfigured schedule profiles. 5. Network Share Recipient: Possibility to upload/store images to a Network Share similar to the FTP upload. 6. Status LED action. Possibility to flash the camera Status LED upon a detected event 5.40.1:F05 Event Management User Interface(GUI) has been redesigned and some have changed. "Event servers" are now called "Recipients". Motion Detection, Tampering, Audio Detection has moved to a new menu group "Detectors". 5.40.1:F06 All triggers except tampering, recurrance and some ACAP events are now stateful, meaning that action rules that depend on them will trigger on the state rather than the state change. 5.40.1:F07 When firmware upgraded from 5.2x to 5.40.1 and would like to see events created in 5.2x in GUI then you need to convert them after upgrading. Also they will work even if you choose not to convert them. 5.40.1:F08 Always Multicast. Ability to have the camera multicast video regardless if any clients are accessing the streams or not. 5.40.1:F09 ONVIF 1.02 support. 5.40.1:F10 Server Report download. Possibility to download a ZIP-file server report (with or without camera snapshot). This simplifies the process of attaching the server report upon submitting a support ticket. 5.40.1:F11 Audio Detection history graph(GUI). The audio history level graph simplifies configuration of audio detection. 5.40.1:F12 Continuous Recording user interface changes. The continuous recordings configuration and listing has been modified. 5.40.1:F13 Storage Management 1. Clean up policy is default on and defaults to 7 days. 2. Parameter for clean up level has been removed from web UI. Defaults to about 80%. 5.40.1:F14 Recordings in general 1. The start time of a recording is updated when data is removed due to clean up policy. 5.40.1:F15 Port status is now located under System Options->Ports & Devices -> I/O Ports. Corrections since 5.22 ======================= 5.40.1:C01 Issue solved with Latency/lag in recordings when using pre-buffer. 5.40.1:C02 Issue solved when camera is defaulted also set to Max framerate and when it becomes dark it fails to reduce FPS and gives 30FPS when returning to normal lightning conditions. 5.40.1:C03 Solved problem with occasional Ethernet failures. 5.40.1:C04 Fix included for '$' and '}' in password. 5.40.1:C05 Timezone in Australia incorrect behavior in web interface corrected. 5.40.1:C06 Corrected issue with preventing JPEGs from being influenced by the maxframesize option. 5.40.1:C07 It is now possible to use HTTPS and port forwarding. 5.40.1:C08 Now I/O ports can be activate/inactivate via web interface properly. 5.40.1:C09 Fixed issue with sftpclient leaking sockets. Known Bug/Limitations ===================== 5.40.1:L01 Its recommended to unmount the SD card before removing it. 5.40.1:L02 Having a very large number of recordings (more then 10 000) made in a single shot, the last page of the recording list can't be accessed. Workaround: Restart the camera. 5.40.1:L03 Remote back focus operation will be disabled when the temperature is too low. Information will be shown in system log. 5.40.1:L04 Selecting sensor capture mode shall be done during initial product configuration as many different settings are affected and will need to be reconfigured. Sensor capture mode affects the available resolutions and changing it in real time requires other resolution related configuration changes on the camera and possibly a recording software. For example, if a resolution that is not available for one capture mode is requested, the reply will be "bad request". 5.40.1:L05 Stream Profiles are not associated with any particular View area. They are profiles that can be used with any view area. The View area is not saved with the Stream Profile. 5.40.1:L06 The bandwidth of the storage media or stream media should always exceed the the bit rate of the movie clip in order to preserve good movie quality. 5.40.1:L07 Sometimes IR filter switches bewteen ON/OFF after factory default and lux value is around 7-10 lux. 5.40.1:L08 Recording streams with total bit rate above 1.5Mbytes/sec may cause missing frames/sequences. 5.40.1:L09 Check and repair is only available for ext4 filesystems. 5.40.1:L10 When SMTP settings are changed you need to disable and enable the action rule in order for the new settings to take effect. (GUI users) 5.40.1:L11 SOCKS will only work with VAPIX API, not Web services.
