FIRMWARE RELEASE NOTES ====================== Products affected: AXIS M3014 Network Camera Release date: 2012-04-25 Release type: Production Firmware version: 5.40.9 File name: M3014_5_40_9.bin Preceding release: 5.21 AMC version: 6.0.6.7-1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS ==================== The firmware can be upgraded using Axis Camera Management, HTTP or FTP. Please follow the instructions from the user's manual, the web page at http://www.axis.com/techsup/cam_servers/how_to_upgrade.htm or the file named howtoupgrade.txt. New Features ============ 5.40.9:F01 Edge storage with support for CIFS/SMB (Microsoft Network share). 5.40.9:F02 The internal Event Management system has been redesigned and VAPIX has been extended with a new Event-API based on Web-Services. Utask has been removed and with that the possibility to start scripts and applications from user.task.list. The legacy user action rules in the camera will continue to work but will not be visible in the camera user interface unless converted to the new design. Event Management user interface (GUI) has been redesigned. For more information please see User's manual. 5.40.9:F03 Always Multicast. Provides the ability to multicast video regardless of whether clients are accessing the streams or not. 5.40.9:F04 ONVIF 1.02 support. 5.40.9:F05 Server Report download. Possibility to download a ZIP-file server report (with or without camera snapshot). This simplifies the process of attaching the server report when submitting a support ticket. 5.40.9:F06 Storage Management 1. Clean up policy is enabled by default and the default value for the parameter is 1 week. 2. Parameter for clean up level is in the Plain Config and default is set at approximately 90% of the storage device capacity. 3. The start time of a recording is updated when data is removed due to clean up policy. 5.40.9:F07 Power line frequency has been introduced. After setting initial root password, select the power line frequency (50 Hz or 60 Hz) used at the location of the Axis product. Selecting the right frequency will reduce image flicker if the product is used in fluorescent light environments. When using 50 Hz, the maximum frame rate is limited to 25 fps. Note: After initial configuration, power line frequency can only be changed through Plain Config (capture frequency parameter) or by resetting the product to factory default. Corrections in 5.40.9 since 5.21 ================================ 5.40.9:C01 Encoding of email subject is now correct for some special characters („هنِ” etc.). 5.40.9:C02 Web services parameter is removed and thus status from the System Overview as well. ONVIF is enabled by specifying an ONVIF administrator in the Security -> ONVIF settings. 5.40.9:C03 RTP over RTSP over HTTP with other than default http port works as expected. 5.40.9:C04 It is no longer necessary to restart the camera after configuring default router parameter via VAPIX. 5.40.9:C05 Improved memory handling when using motion detection. 5.40.9:C06 Improved camera responsiveness. 5.40.9:C07 Configuration of time zone for Australia appears correctly in the web interface. 5.40.9:C08 It is possible to use HTTPS and port forwarding. 5.40.9:C09 It is possible to add IP addresses to the IP filter list in the web interface. 5.40.9:C10 Up to 127 characters can be used in the 'From email address' field. 5.40.9:C11 Image with 800x450 resolution and 90 or 270 degrees rotation is displayed correctly. 5.40.9:C12 It is possible to use a space in the upload path for an ftp server. 5.40.9:C13 The DHCP option for IPV4 is removed when IPv6 is enabled while IPv4 is disabled. The IPv6 address is included in the mail body of an SMTP test mail. 5.40.9:C14 The event combination option "Include pre-trigger buffer" and "Upload as long as the trigger is active" works together. 5.40.9:C15 Clicking on the save button after making changes to the exposure window setting works correctly. 5.40.9:C16 Event or event server can now be added, modified or deleted without all running events being stopped and restarted. 5.40.9:C17 Boundary check added when entering a motion detection window name to prevent the parhand application to restart if the name is more than 1024 charachters long. 5.40.9:C18 Initial logging with creating self-signed certificate does not require extra login as 'root' with password 'pass'. 5.40.9:C19 The parameter Message="" is no longer added to the http notification URL when the Message field is empty. 5.40.9:C20 Double & are no longer present in HTTP notification. The Action rule gives a valid URI. 5.40.9:C21 Videokeyframeinterval=1 with userdata enabled gives expected H.264 stream. 5.40.9:C22 Several improvements for stability. 5.40.9:C23 Handling sockets when running the ONVIF operation GetNetworkInterfaces has been improved. 5.40.9:C24 Improved Web service deamon memory handling. 5.40.9:C25 Trigger data (SEI NAL) works as expected. 5.40.9:C26 Sending DHCP release has been adjusted for environments with DHCP snooping. 5.40.9:C27 HTTP upload event with authentication works as expected. 5.40.9:C28 An adjustment for intermittently twitching stream during higher load has been made. Known Bugs/Limitations ====================== 5.40.9:L01 The image is always showed with zero rotation at the Exposure settings page. 5.40.9:L02 The effect of backlight compensation on/off may not be noticeable. 5.40.9:L03 Stream profile names are limited to alphanumerical characters. 5.40.9:L04 After changing the date/time of the camera, the video stream will stop after 60 seconds with an RTSP session time out. It does not matter if the media stream is started before or after the time is changed. Workaround: Reboot the camera after the time has been changed manually or by NTP. 5.40.9:L05 AXIS Media Control client may stop displaying the H.264 video stream after the PC has been locked. 5.40.9:L06 Daylight saving time does not work for Iran. 5.40.9:L07 If a customer is trying to upload a very large file instead of a valid language file, a "404 page cannot be displayed" page is shown. 5.40.9:L08 Synchronizing camera time with a computertime or NTP-server time that is ahead of camera time will cause clients to stop. Computertime or NTP-server time that is behind camera time is not affected. Workaround: Reload the page to start the stream again. 5.40.9:L09 Multicast for ipv6 works only if ipv4 is also enabled. 5.40.9:L10 Date modifiers "%m-%d-%Y" are not formatted correctly when used with folder name, SMTP subject and message. 5.40.9:L11 Adding color=0 to the rtsp video link will not result in black&white image. Set color to 0 in Camera Settings instead. 5.40.9:L12 Video stream lost when clock is synchronizing to a past computer time. Expected: Time is synchronized and video stream is up. Actual: Video stream is lost. 5.40.9:L13 Frame Size Control does not affect the size of the snapshot taken with the upper right control that can be added to the Live View. 5.40.9:L14 Constant bit rate might fluctuate more than 10%. 5.40.9:L15 Events triggered at the same time, will by default settings share the same filename. This may result in upload of corrupted image. 5.40.9:L16 If RTSP authentication is switched off, streaming H.264 with QuickTime and other Apple compatible clients will not work as they require authentication of the RTSP, but do not allow HTTP authentication. 5.40.9:L17 When using action rule resulting in short recordings, it is recommended to extend post-event time. 5.40.9:L18 Date modifiers "%m-%d-%Y" are not formatted correctly when used with folder name, SMTP subject and message. 5.40.9:L19 For ONVIF, GetCapabilities returns incorrect port number in XAddr when web server port is changed to something else than 80.
